If I select standard delivery when will my delivery be?

  • All orders placed before midday Monday to Friday will be dispatched by the end of the day.
  • Standard deliveries are normally Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays and can be made to any UK postal address.
  • Orders placed on Saturday or Sunday will be processed on the following Monday.
  • Please allow 3 to 5 working days for orders to be delivered.
  • At peak delivery times such as Christmas or Easter there may be delays due to postal delays and we advise that any orders placed for special occasions are made in good time.

Do you deliver on Saturdays and Sundays?

  • Whilst standard delivery items may sometimes be delivered on a Saturday, we cannot guarantee a Saturday delivery.
  • We do not deliver on Sundays.

*If I select next day delivery, when will my delivery be?

  • For all orders placed before midday Monday to Thursday, unless there are exceptional circumstances we will deliver to most UK addresses including Northern Ireland, Jersey and Guernsey by 1pm the following day.
  • If you place your order on a Friday before midday then your order will be delivered to most UK addresses including Northern Ireland, Jersey and Guernsey by 1pm on Monday.
  • Some places take longer to deliver to, for example the Scottish Highlands and Islands, but unless there are exceptional circumstances we still guarantee delivery by 5-30pm within 3 working days.

Will someone have to sign for the delivery?

  • All UK deliveries, whether they are standard or next day delivery, will need a signature. If you are sending a gift and you think the recipient may not be at home it might be a good idea to request delivery to a place of work.
  • If there is nobody to sign for the delivery the order will be returned to the local Royal Mail or courier depot, and a card will be left at the recipient's address notifying them that they missed a delivery. The notification will include information about redelivery or collection options.
  • Chocolates that have not been delivered will be returned to us after three weeks for standard deliveries and after one week for next day deliveries at which time we will notify the sender that the gift has not been delivered. No refunds will be made.

Do you deliver to BFPO addresses?

  • Yes, we do deliver to BFPO addresses. Please select next day delivery for this service because we will use Royal Mail HM Forces Airmail to deliver your order and this is more expensive than standard UK services.
  • Depending on the destination deliveries can take between 4 and 30 days to be delivered. Please contact our customer service team on +44 (0)1420 84181 who will be able to give you a better indication of how long your delivery will take.

What about deliveries to Europe?

  • All orders placed before midday Monday to Friday will be dispatched by the end of the day.
  • When your item is delivered, it will be electronically scanned by the postal operative delivering it to confirm it has arrived.
  • A signature is not taken, but an electronic delivery confirmation is used so your item can be tracked.
  • Please allow 3 to 5 working days for orders to be delivered to most European addresses.

What about deliveries to countries outside of Europe?

  • All orders placed before midday Monday to Friday will be dispatched by the end of the day.
  • Please allow 5 to 7 working days for orders to be delivered.

Will my chocolate melt in transit?

  • It could! Chocolate does melt in hot weather so we recommend taking this into account when ordering chocolate for delivery in very hot weather or to be delivered to hot countries. In very hot weather we may delay your delivery to try to avoid your chocolate melting. If we do this though, we will email you to update you on the progress of your order.

How do I organise delivery to multiple addresses?

  • For deliveries to multiple addresses please order separately. Alternatively, if you want to order for delivery to more than four delivery points please contact us on +44 (0)1420 84181 and we can put your orders on for you.

Can I speak to someone? How do I contact customer services?

Returns Policy

We are sure you will love our chocolates, but if you are not happy with the products you receive you can just return them. It's as simple as that!

If within 7 days of receipt of any goods ordered from our website you discover damage or a defect you can return the goods to us. When we receive the returned goods, subject to their condition, we will refund the amount you paid for them or supply a substitute product if you prefer.

If you have placed an order by mistake or would like to cancel your order for another reason, please call us on +44 (0)1420 84181 or email us at info@hodchoc.com by 12 noon after placing your order or on the Monday following an order placed on Saturday or Sunday. To avoid your order mistakenly being dispatched after the midday deadline, please call us rather than emailing us if possible. Our lines are open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Please note that all refunds from our website are conditional upon proof of purchase and can only be made to the person who purchased the goods.
